SpotRate is a personal ratings journal turned global. We visit food and drink spots across the world — from neighbourhood cafés in Edinburgh to seaside restaurants in Mallorca — and rate them honestly, consistently, and in detail.
Every rating uses the same structured criteria for its category, so every score means the same thing whether it's a restaurant in Jasper, Alberta or a bakery in Greystones, Ireland.
No paid placements. No affiliate links. No incentives. Just the score it deserved.
Every category has five criteria, each rated from 0 to 10. Total score is out of 50. The criteria change per category — a coffee shop is judged differently from a pub — but the rigour stays the same.

The food and drink world is full of incentivised reviews, influencer partnerships, and algorithmic manipulation. SpotRate is the opposite of all of that.
