SpotRate is a personal ratings journal turned global. We visit food and drink spots across the world — from neighbourhood cafés in Edinburgh to seaside restaurants in Mallorca — and rate them honestly, consistently, and in detail.
Every rating uses the same structured criteria for its category, so every score means the same thing whether it's a restaurant in Jasper, Alberta or a bakery in Greystones, Ireland.
No paid placements. No affiliate links. No incentives. Every rating includes photos and detailed visit notes — and a trust-weighted tier system means the most experienced voices carry more weight in every final score.
Every category has five criteria, each rated from 0–10. The criteria change per category — a coffee shop is judged differently from a pub — but the rigour stays the same.
